Admission

The University offers its Academic Programmes in two cycles i.e, January and July. The University advertises its programmes in National and Regional dailies. The University offer round the year walk-in admission. Most of the Academic Programmes are being offered in both the cycles of admissions i.e, January and July cycles. Admissions to the academic programmes are under three modes i.e, through entrance examination, merit & direct admission, depending on the nature of the programme. Admission notifications are issued in leading national and regional dailies for Walk in Admissions during the April-May for July Session and August-September for January session. The detailed information on admissions and application forms are available in the University website at www.ignou.ac.in. The filled in applications can be submitted to Regional Centre, Cochin.
 

The University has introduced a walk-in-admission facility for all Certificate Programmes of six month duration. The admission to these programmes remains open throughout the year. The admission to the Management Programmes, Bachelor of Nautical Science, Bachelor of Hotel Administration, and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is through entrance tests conducted by the University.
 

The University has a scheme of ‘Associate Studentship’, which provides for learners to register for only a limited number of courses, subject to a minimum of 8 credits and a maximum of 32 credits to upgrade their knowledge and/ or to acquire specialization in a particular area.
 

Students can also apply online by visiting IGNOU website. Application forms are available at Regional Centres and Study Centres. Application forms can also be downloaded from the website. Filled in application forms along with necessary certificates and fees in the form of DD are to be submitted to the Regional Centre. Admission will be offered on the basis of eligibility. Once admitted the student will attached to a Study Centre for all support services.
