Submission of soft copy of MAPC Project Proposal (Synopsis) for June 2020-only for learners of Regional Centre Cochin (RC14)

 SUBMISSION OF SOFT COPY OF MAPC PROJECT PROPOSAL (SYNOPSIS) FOR JUNE 2020 (062020) - APPLICABLE ONLY FOR LEARNERS OF REGIONAL CENTRE COCHIN (RC14) - LAST DATE 30-06-2020 ENDING IST 23:59:59

Please read the guidelines given below carefully before filling the Google Form.

1. Please enter your details carefully. Error in entry of details may lead to delay in processing your Project Proposal (Synopsis)

2. Learners who have already submitted HARDCOPY of Project Proposal (Synopsis) NEED NOT submit the soft copy of the Project Proposal (Synopsis) again here. In addition, if you are interested to submit only HARDCOPY of Project Proposal (Synopsis) and are not confident to submit the soft copy of the Project Proposal (Synopsis), you are welcomed to do so.

3. A Learner is eligible to submit ONLY one Project Proposal (Synopsis) in one session.

4. A copy of the details entered in every Google Form will be auto delivered to your email id.

5. Project Manual:        Please read the Project Manual for MAPC available in http://www.ignou.ac.in/upload/Project_Hand_Book123.pdf before preparing the Project Proposal (Synopsis). Kindly note that updates if any - have been made by the Programme Coordinator, the same will be communicated to you by the Regional Centre as SMS to your Mobile Number. The Proposal Formulation and Submission found in Section 6 of Page 7, 11. Kindly note that the Synopsis of the Project Proposal should include the following: a) Title of the Project/Dissertation b) Background of the Study c) Rationale d) Objectives of the Study e) Research Methodology to be used for carrying out the study (detailing nature of data, data sources, collection methods, tools and techniques of analysis, sampling, etc.) f) Limitations, if any, and the direction for the future study. The last date for submission of synopsis is 30th June 2020.

6. Selection of Guide/Internal Supervisor: Kindly consider the following suggestions while selecting the Guide/Internal Supervisor:     

6.1 The background of expertise of the Guide / Internal Supervisor can be either Academic Counselor or Approved Guide from Guide list/ Approval received from Head Quarter or chosen afresh from your known source of Expert from the Discipline of Psychology - in which case the bio-data has to be submitted for approval to IGNOU Head Quarter by email to swatipatra@ignou.ac.in or projectpsychology@ignou.ac.in (which may take some processing time).  Kindly note that you are not eligible to submit the Project Proposal/Synopsis during the processing time for approval of the Bio-data by email. The expert you choose should comply with the eligibility criteria prescribed by the University in Section 4 found in Page No. 6 of Project Manual for MAPC available in http://www.ignou.ac.in/upload/Project_Hand_Book123.pdf

6.2 The List of approved Guides / Internal Supervisor on all India basis is available in the link http://rccochin.ignou.ac.in/Ignou- RC-Cochin/userfiles/file/MAPC- 2.pdf . The detail related to Cochin Region is available in Page No.4. The Academic Counsellor can be met during the counseling session at the LSC to which you have been attached.

6.3 Since research work need constant interaction with the Guide/Internal Supervisor, it is suggested that you choose the Guide/Internal Supervisor who is near to your place of stay or place or work.

6.4 Choose a Guide/Internal Supervisor after discussing your proposed research topic. Do not indicate the name of the Guide/Internal Supervisor without their consent. Kindly finalize the Project Proposal (Synopsis) before submitting through this Google Form after discussing with the Guide/Internal Supervisor.

6.5 The Guide/Internal Supervisor needs to give his/her consent to guide/supervise you as the learner in writing as a letter either by email or by hand (as per the convenience). The letter should mention the following: “I hereby express my consent to guide Mr./Ms.………… Enrolment No. ………….of MAPC programme of IGNOU for the Project topic …………….”. This document needs to be uploaded in this Google Form facilitating your softcopy submission of Project Proposal (Synopsis).

7. Format for softcopy submission of Project Proposal (Synopsis): Kindly follow the following norms:

7.1 The Project Proposal (Synopsis) should be only in MS word format saved in MS Word 1997-2003 format to ensure compatibility of opening the document in all equipments at the receiving end. Kindly number the pages for ease of reference. Keep the review track option open while uploading the document so as to facilitate the evaluator to write his/her comment / suggestions before declaring whether the synopsis is approved / not approved / approved with modification.

7.2 The Maximum file size of the Project Proposal (Synopsis) uploaded has been limited to 100 MB

7.3 Upload of Grade Card to show proof of successful completion of pre-requisite courses MPC005 and MPC006 before attempting Synopsis submission is necessary. The Grade Card can be downloaded from https://gradecard.ignou.ac.in/gradecardR/Result.asp .

8. Work prior to submission of Google Form: The following needs to be done before filling in the Google Form.

8.1 Kindly keep your enrolment number ready as indicated in your IGNOU identity card.

8.2 Know your LSC Code (either 14000 or 14169). If you are not aware of your LSC Code, kindly know by visiting Students Zone (http://admission.ignou.ac.in/changeadmdata/AdmissionStatusNew.ASP)

8.3 Grade Card to show proof of successful completion of pre- requisite courses MPC005 and MPC006 needs to be downloaded from https://gradecard.ignou.ac.in/gradecardR/Result.asp

8.4 The letter from Guide/Internal Supervisor giving his/her consent to guide/supervise you as the learner and received in writing either by email or by hand (as per the convenience) should be downloaded / scanned depending upon the mode of receipt.

8.5 If you have chosen afresh the Guide/Internal Supervisor from your known source of Expert from the Discipline of Psychology, the Approval received from Head Quarter should be scanned and kept ready for enclosing as an attachment.
